Zampen native chicken is known for its ability to grow faster than other native chickens in the Philippines and its ability to do well in free-range conditions. Plant-based anthelmintics are medicinal plants with anthelmintic activity against intestinal parasites. This study was conducted at Mati, San Miguel, Zamboanga del Sur from December 10 to April 18, 2023, to determine the effects of plant-based anthelmintics in expelling internal parasite’s eggs, larvae, and adult parasites of Zampen Native chicken. Thirty six (36) heads of ZamPen native chicken were laid in a Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with four (4) treatments replicated three times. The data were subjected to analysis of variance using Statistical Tools of Agricultural Research (STAR). Results showed in Egg Per Gram (EPG) count of internal parasites eggs expelled before and after administration revealed that all treatments show highly significant results on administration period within treatments. On the number of larvae expelled before and after administration only Treatment 1 and 3 shows a significant result on the administration period within treatment. On the number of adult internal parasites expelled after the administration of different plant-based anthelmintics only T3 shows significant results on the periods of administration. Plant-based anthelmintics revealed to have the same results as the synthetic dewormer in terms of expelling internal parasite’s eggs, larvae and adult. In conclusion, the administration of plant based anthelmintics such as betel nut, ipil-ipil and papaya seeds are effective in reducing the intestinal parasites of Zampen native chicken.
